About this role
A senior Pretoria-based role in the Prudential Authority's Financial Market Infrastructure work, sitting within PSISD. The Lead Policy Analyst drafts prudential policy papers and regulatory instruments, analyses international standards against SA financial market infrastructure and structured debt/market risk frameworks, and implements policy under the Financial Sector Regulation Act. Closed as of its 13 August 2026 deadline, re-confirmed 18 August 2026 ("This job is no longer available" on SARB's own portal). Two similar-sounding successor roles have since appeared (Senior Policy Analyst – Banking, Ref. 1817, and Senior Policy Analyst – FSR Act, Ref. 1820, both posted 17 August 2026), worth adding separately if verified.

Meeting the lines is the start. How clearly your file shows them is a separate question, and it is the work we do.
A senior regulatory drafting and policy role naming Law as one of six qualifying postgraduate fields. Included as a market signal of where a legal career in financial regulation leads at the most senior level: shaping the actual prudential instruments that banks and financial market infrastructure providers must comply with.
Draft a one-page policy position on a fictional new financial market infrastructure risk, identifying the FSR Act provisions engaged and the international standard you would benchmark against.
