About this role
The FSCA is South Africa's market conduct regulator for the financial sector, the body that enforces FAIS, oversees financial institutions' treatment of customers, and licenses financial services providers. Its careers page confirms a 12-month Graduate Programme for newly qualified graduates with no prior work experience, alongside internships and permanent vacancies across 10 divisions including a dedicated Legal division. Applications run through the FSCA's recruitment portal. Intake windows are announced periodically: monitor the careers page.

Meeting the lines is the start. How clearly your file shows them is a separate question, and it is the work we do.
Working inside the regulator is the fastest way to learn how FAIS, COFI, and conduct regulation actually operate. Ex-FSCA experience is one of the most portable credentials in SA financial services compliance: banks and insurers actively recruit people who have seen regulation from the enforcement side.
Draft a one-page internal note identifying the conduct risks in a fictional financial services provider's sales incentive structure, applying the FAIS General Code of Conduct.
