About this role
AML and KYC analyst roles sit in the compliance divisions of banks, crypto asset service providers (CASP), and fintechs. Responsibilities: transaction monitoring, customer due diligence, suspicious transaction report filing under FICA, and regulatory escalation. VALR (SA's largest crypto exchange) and Luno are high-profile SA employers actively growing compliance teams. FICA knowledge is a direct application of LLB-level statutory interpretation. LLB graduates bring regulatory reading ability and legal judgment to AML roles that BCom graduates often lack.
