About this role
A 12-month Governance, Risk and Compliance internship at Woolworths' Cape Town head office (ref WWL260721-9): coordinating board and committee activities, maintaining statutory and governance records, minute-taking, compliance registers, risk register support, and governance research under King IV. Important: the posting requires enrolment through CGISA (Chartered Governance Institute of Southern Africa) at final-year NQF7 or postgraduate NQF8 level: an LLB alone does not qualify, but LLB graduates can enrol with CGISA. The 31 July 2026 deadline has passed and the posting is confirmed closed. Monitor Woolworths' careers page for the next GRC internship intake.

Meeting the lines is the start. How clearly your file shows them is a separate question, and it is the work we do.
Company secretarial is a proven LLB route, and the Companies Act and King IV are law-school territory. The catch: this internship requires CGISA enrolment, so it suits LLB graduates who have registered (or are willing to register) with CGISA to build a chartered governance qualification alongside their law degree, a combination that leads to company secretary and governance officer roles at listed companies.
Draft minutes for a fictional board committee meeting from a set of rough notes, correctly recording one resolution, one matter held over, and one conflict-of-interest recusal in King IV-appropriate form.
