About this role
The FIC is the national body established under the FIC Act to combat money laundering and terrorist financing, the authority to which every accountable institution in SA files suspicious transaction reports. It recruits analysts, compliance monitors, and legal advisors on an ongoing basis through its career portal. The FIC's careers page is live and directs candidates to create a profile on its recruitment portal, where open positions are posted as they arise.

Meeting the lines is the start. How clearly your file shows them is a separate question, and it is the work we do.
FIC experience is the gold-standard credential for a financial crime career in SA. Analysts learn suspicious transaction analysis, typologies, and enforcement referrals from the authority that defines them, the exact experience banks, CASPs, and fintechs pay a premium for when hiring AML leadership.
Analyse a fictional set of three transaction patterns and write a memo identifying which meet the FICA s29 threshold for a suspicious transaction report, with reasons.
